Mikhail received his Degree from State Art College in Baku where he
flourished in all mediums and styles. Following Art College, he began
work as a set designer for the Azerbaijan Circus and the Opera and Ballet
Theatre. In 1989 Mikhail moved to Moscow where he made his living as
an artist, painting in watercolors and oil in open Exhibitions and Galleries.
His odd use of color is somehow thoroughly Russian, and he recalls the
unique light of Azerbaijan, where he grew up. Mikhail is inspired by
both Rembrandt and Claude Monet. There is no mistaking that the personality
of Mikhail Romanov is present in his works. Mikhail has earned the recognition
of listed fine artist in the prestigious MAYER 2000/01 International
Auction Records. You my view his impressive sales record here in his
"Gallery". He has been purchased by Corporate, as well as
private collectors, who desire that their art make an unusual statement
about who they are.
