Irina Kovnacka, Latvian, b 1976, is a fine artist listed in the prestigious
MAYER 2000/01 International Auction Records. Her unbridled enthusiasm
for the rigors and pleasures of painting is clearly evident in her work,
and has been recognized by fine art collectors worldwide. Her stellar
auction sales record of fine oil paintings has placed her among the
most successful emerging fine artists on the Sotheby's On Line Auctions
since December, 1999. Irina holds two Bachelors Degrees--one in World
Literature and one in Fine Art. Irina has creatively merged these two
disciplines by basing her final thesis on her research of the symbolism
and theory of color in literature. Her intrigue with color is her main
source of inspiration and self-expression.
"When I paint, my goal is not to replicate my subject exactly,
but rather to reflect the impressions and moods brought on by the moment,
sometimes exaggerating the colors or shapes of my focus. I use my artwork
as a source of expressing personal perception of the world and also
as a way of communication with a spectator, where colors serve as words.
The value of this dialogue is in its universal language".
Irina arrived in the USA in June 1999 and currently resides in Orlando,
Florida. A fast tracked, high achiever, Kovnacka was recently recognized
and featured as Artist of the Month at the Orlando Museum of Art, June
2002. Kovnacka's widely collected works hang in galleries, corporate
offices and private residences in the USA, UK and Europe. Among her
Scandinavian collectors are Swedish Consulates to Spain and Venezuela.
